Sathy Road
Sathy Road begins near Gandhipuram and runs north past Ganapathy, the Coimbatore Omni Bus Terminus, Athipalayam Pirivu and Saravanampatti Pirivu before continuing out of the city. It is one of the city’s main arterial roads and is maintained partly by the state Highways Department and partly by the Corporation.

Keeranatham
Keeranatham, between Saravanampatti and the northern fringe, hosts part of the KGiSL campus and the CHIL SEZ. It was one of the panchayats listed for merger into Coimbatore Corporation in the expansion order issued in early 2025.
Thudiyalur and Mettupalayam Road
Mettupalayam Road runs from the city market area through Chintamani, Saibaba Colony, Goundampalayam and GN Mills to Thudiyalur, then continues about 26 km to Mettupalayam at the foot of the Nilgiris. A four-lane flyover across the Goundampalayam and GN Mills junctions has been operational since 2023, easing one of the road’s worst bottlenecks.
Thudiyalur was absorbed into Coimbatore Corporation in 2011. It has its own suburban railway station on the Coimbatore to Mettupalayam line, an urban primary health centre, ESIC dispensaries and several private hospitals. The area has a well-established residential base, with independent houses on older layouts and newer apartment projects. Further north, Periyanaickenpalayam and the road to Mettupalayam offer plots and houses at lower entry points.
Annur and Karamadai
For buyers wanting land rather than a finished home, the belt beyond the city towards Annur (on the Sathy Road side) and Karamadai (near Mettupalayam) offers larger plots and agricultural land. These are long-horizon purchases. Infrastructure is thinner, and land near the Nilgiris foothills may fall under hill area rules, so legal checks matter more.
Getting around and daily life
Both corridors are served by frequent city buses from Gandhipuram, and Thudiyalur adds the option of suburban trains towards Coimbatore Junction and Mettupalayam.
